A little rain didn’t keep us from being at Walk to Help on September 25th, 2010.

Walk To Help is an annual 5k family fun walk to raise funds for charitable hospitals and medical programs in areas of rural India. These areas have substandard health-care and have a great need for medical supplies. The walked kicked off with ribbon cutting by Dada Advayananda. This year was a little wet but we still had a great time participating with our ponchos and all the umbrellas made for some fun pictures.

This year, Walk to Help was at Spring Trail Park in Irving, TX. We were honored to be part of this impactful event to raise funds and awareness for hospitals in need. Hopefully next year’s weather will be a little more cooperative but we will bring our umbrellas just in case. Hope to see you there!

Two-day yoga conference concludes
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, October 3
“With spiritual progress, the mind grows in magnitude. The mind increases its periphery until it finally merges in the Supreme Entity.” This was stated by the spiritual head of Ananda Marga Pracharaka Samgha (AMPS) Vishwadevananda Avadhuta during a two days meditation conference which concluded here today.

He said during the course of spiritual progress, a spiritual aspirant would develop many faculties or attributes, but one must always be vigilant that these faculties do not divert one from the chosen path, from the cherished goal.

Large number of people from all over India attended the conference. After the afternoon meditation, followers took out a procession in the city with banner and placards.

In the evening, the Renaissance Artists and Writers Association (RAWA) presented a colourful cultural programme based on “prabhata samgita” composed by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar.

Farmers in Davao del Norte reap profits from vegetables
DAVAO CITY -- Vegetable farmers in nearby Panabo City who had refused to lease their land to banana plantation operators a decade or two ago are now reaping the rewards of their decision.

While her neighbors jumped at the offer of sweet-talking representatives of the banana companies years ago, 55-year-old Anita A. Monsanto stuck to her farm. "Now, we earn about P3,000 per harvest for one week, or P12,000 a month," she said, referring to a hectare of land that her family could have leased out years ago.
A hectare of land planted to banana in Panabo started at a lease of P7,000 annually about a decade ago. The rate has since increased to P15,000 per hectare annually, tantamount to just P1,250 per hectare a month. Each farmer holds one to five hectares.
Panabo is known as the "banana capital" of Davao del Norte. Based on its own Web site, the city has dedicated nearly half of its agricultural land, or around 10,000 hectares, for export-quality bananas.
The Vegetable Industry Council of Southern Mindanao concedes that vegetable growing is not among the major sub-sectoral contributors to the country’s agricultural sector.

Ananda Marga Dharma Maha Sammelan held on July 29 in Germany

Namaskar Dear Brothers and sisters,
On 29 July 2010, our Rev Ac Vishwadevananda Dada addressed on the first day to the gathering of devotees who were present in the morning and evening program in community hall near Madhukaruna.
The subject of his discourse was “Ba’ba’ the perfect synonym of a Supreme Father”.

Rev Dada started with Ba’ba’s all pervasive power and love for Devotees.

Ba’ba’ started exhibiting the power since his birth while feeding him for the first time..

When Rev Dada was a small boy, when Dada and his best friend used to argue, to claim that my father was great or his friend’s father was Great.

You know, everybody has love for his own father.

Baba is the Supreme so he is the Father, that’s why everybody has love for that Supreme Father and HE is our Baba.

A father loves his child but the grandfather loves his grand children still more and great grandfather loves his grand children still more and more.

So Supreme Father who is the father of all children loves his children the Most, that’s why HE is Supreme Father of all.
